Columbus Dispatch endorses Cordray for governor

"For the path forward he will offer as Ohio governor, the Dispatch endorses Richard Cordray," the Columbus Dispatch editorial board wrote to its readership this past Sunday. After sizing up Cordray against his opponent, Attorney General Mike DeWine, the publication indicated that Cordray is just the change that Ohio needs.

"DeWine potentially represents entrenchment with what has been a largely unresponsive Republican legislature while Cordray offers a different direction and proven leadership to challenge the status quo," the editorial board wrote.

"True, it is rare for this newspaper to favor a Democrat over a Republican for the governor’s office," wrote the Dispatch, only favoring one other Democrat for the state's top office since 1962. Read the full endorsement...
